Goals of the Commissioner Staff
Direct support for the Scouting program at the unit level comes from the Commissioner Staff. This group is composed of volunteers within the District dedicated to making Scouting a better program for all youth by Building a Tradition of Doing Things the Right Way.

Join the Commissioner's Team
In Three Rivers District members of the Commissioners Team are highly trained and dedicated volunteers. The team is composed of members who attend a regularly scheduled meeting with the team once each month. The team members also make direct contact with unit leaders from units other than their own. Commissioners may be assigned up to three units other than their own unit to mentor with scouting first aide that they have learned in training.
Requirements to be a member of this successful team are few but are important:
- Commissioners are expected to make an effort to earn the Arrowhead Honor as soon as they are able and display it on their uniform.
- Commissioners are expected to be in full Field Uniform (class A) when attending scout functions.
- Commissioners are expected to become fully trained for their assignment.
- Commissioners are expected to attend monthly team meetings.
- In the event a commissioner is called away from or can not attend a meeting he or she is requested to let the District Commissioner know in advance with an email or phone call.
- Commissioners are expected to provide an uplifting spirit of comment to all Scouters they come into contact with.
- Commissioners know they are the lifeline for answers to questions that face unit leaders of all types.
In short, Commissioners support the work of the Council, District and individual units to the best of their ability.

National Commissioner's Podcast
Throughout his involvement with Scouting, Tico Perez has worked tirelessly to strengthen the organization in underserved communities. As our new National Commissioner, Tico will bring his great talents as a communicator to a job that also requires a desire to bring the best program to every child. Before taking on this new role, Tico chaired the Southern Region Hispanic Scouting Task Force and the National Scoutreach Committee. In 2006, he facilitated a Scoutreach conference at the Philmont Training Center.
